Food

Hi everyone, finally I am slowly getting my act into gear and starting to put my Recipes together with photo's so that I can share my love and passion with you all.

Tonight I made my family one of their Favourite Meals, Pepper Steak with a Creamy Garlic Gravy.  I call this dish, Steak ala Celeste, as my mommy dear was who taught me how to make this dish.  She would make it most Saturday nights as our special dinner along with a fabulous desert.  But this blog tonight is just on the Main Course.

  • Ingredients:

  •  Good Quality steak
  •  Garlic
  •  Butter
  •  Olive Oil
  •  Salt
  •  Nutmeg
  •  Pepper
  •  Brandy
  •  Broccoli
  •  Potatoes
  •  Tomatoes
  • Method:

  •  Put salt and pepper on your streak and chop some garlic over it and place your streak under the broiler cooking it at 180 (350) keeping your eye on it as you don't want to dry your steak out.
  • Peel your potatoes and cut them into thin rounds.
  • Blanch your Broccoli till they are al dente ... when your remove this from the water be sure to run cold water over them as this will stop them from cooking and restore their green color.
  • Fry your potatoes till they are slightly crunchy.
  • Once your steaks looks to be cooked to your liking take the steak and put it on a plate ... DO NOT CUT IT OR POKE IT WITH A FORK LET IT BE
  • In a frying pan chop up some garlic, add some butter, grate some nutmeg and let this mingle together for a bit.  Add two tsp of brandy and then pour in as much cream you need to make enough sauce, I usually use a cup and a half.  I like to put in some cornstarch so that I can thicken up the sauce a bit.  Then add the rest of the sauce that was left in the pan you used to cook the steak.  This adds flavour.
  • Take your broccoli and add salt, pepper, garlic, OO and vinegar.
  • Cut up your steak in to strips.
  • Now plate your dish and enjoy ...
